Flydubai Halts Kuwait Services Following Airport Attack
Following a drone strike on Kuwait International Airport on June 3, Dubai-based carrier flydubai has officially canceled all scheduled flights to and from the country. The attack, which resulted in multiple casualties, prompted the airline to prioritize the safety of its passengers and crew while it monitors the evolving regional situation. Flydubai has confirmed it is reaching out directly to affected travelers to offer support, including accommodation where necessary, and is urging customers to keep their contact information updated via the airline's website to receive timely status notifications.
While operations in Bahrain have resumed as normal, the aviation landscape in Kuwait remains severely disrupted. Kuwait’s civil aviation authority has activated emergency protocols, leading to widespread flight suspensions and diversions, with national carriers like Kuwait Airways also grounding services. Other international airlines, including India’s IndiGo, have similarly suspended operations until at least June 4. This escalation marks a troubling turn for the Gulf region, which had experienced a period of relative stability following a ceasefire agreement earlier this spring.
