Pakistan Locates Wreckage of Missing K2 Airways Cargo Plane

Wed, Jul 8, 2026(1d ago)Business

Pakistani authorities have officially confirmed the discovery of the wreckage belonging to a K2 Airways cargo plane that vanished while traveling from Sharjah to Karachi. The Boeing aircraft reportedly lost contact with air traffic control after radar data indicated a sudden and rapid descent. Following an intensive 12-hour search operation involving the Pakistan Navy and the Maritime Security Agency, the remains of the plane were spotted approximately 53 nautical miles south of the Ormara coastline in the Arabian Sea.

Official footage shared by the Pakistan Airports Authority shows search teams recovering fuselage fragments and debris marked with the "K2 Air" logo. While the wreckage has been located, the status of the five crew members remains uncertain, and rescue teams continue to scour the area for survivors. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has already extended his condolences to the families of those on board, as military aircraft and merchant vessels remain fully engaged in the ongoing recovery efforts.
