Dubai World Trade Centre Free Zone Reports Significant Growth in 2025
The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Free Zone experienced a banner year in 2025, recording a 41 percent surge in new business licenses to reach 850. This influx of global corporations and tech-focused startups pushed the total number of active companies in the ecosystem beyond 2,500, bolstered by an impressive 96 percent license renewal rate. Alongside this commercial expansion, the zoneās workforce grew by 20 percent, with active employee visas climbing to 8,000, while the business community became increasingly cosmopolitan, now representing 148 different nationalities compared to 107 the previous year.
Key drivers behind this momentum included the rise of specialized sectors like AI-driven professional services, virtual assets, and sports and entertainment, the latter being fueled by the new International Sports and Entertainment Free Zone cluster. Major international players, such as KPMG, Louis Vuitton, and Deutsche Messe, have integrated into the hub, taking advantage of its expanded flexible office solutions. By aligning its operations with the ambitious Dubai Economic Agenda D33, the DWTC Free Zone continues to solidify its reputation as a premier destination for global investment, offering competitive benefits like 100 percent foreign ownership and full capital repatriation to attract companies looking to scale in the region.
