DIFC Hits Record Milestone with Over 10,000 Registered Companies

Tue, Jul 28, 2026(45d ago)Business

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has reached a major milestone, surpassing 10,000 active registered companies for the first time in its history. This 30 percent year-on-year growth, fueled by the addition of over 2,300 new firms, solidifies the hub’s reputation as the premier financial ecosystem in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted that this expansion aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing the city's status as a top-tier global financial destination. The surge is broad-based, spanning banking, insurance, and wealth management, with the centre now ranking seventh globally in the prestigious Global Financial Centres Index.

A key driver of this growth is the rapid adoption of new technologies, as the number of AI, FinTech, and innovation-focused firms jumped by 39 percent. Moving forward, the DIFC aims to pioneer the world’s first AI-native financial landscape, a strategic shift projected to create 25,000 jobs and deliver significant economic value. Alongside its technological pivot, the hub has seen a substantial rise in family business entities and private wealth management, supported by a growing educational portfolio. With major projects like DIFC Square fully pre-leased, the centre continues to see high demand for space and services, cementing its role as a vital gateway for global capital and innovation.
