By integrating global best practices and stringent sustainability benchmarks, the new framework aims to ensure that guests enjoy a more consistent and high-quality stay. Unveiled at the Arabian Travel Market, this update is designed to empower hotel operators to better differentiate their properties while granting investors more flexibility through revised infrastructure guidelines.

Beyond fundamental service and safety improvements, the manual introduces seven prestigious accolades that celebrate unique contributions to the industry, such as wellness, innovation, and "Emirati Dhiyafa." These changes are strategically aligned with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, reflecting the emirate’s ambition to remain a premier global destination. To ensure a smooth transition, the DCT is providing a grace period for properties to adopt these new criteria, with its Licensing and Regulatory Compliance Department standing by to assist hotels in meeting the updated standards.
