Shein’s Path to Hong Kong IPO: A Financial Overview

Mon, Jul 27, 2026(45d ago)Finance

As Shein gears up for a highly anticipated IPO expected later this year, the fast-fashion giant has officially pulled back the curtain on its financial health. According to a draft prospectus recently filed with the Hong Kong stock exchange, the company reported a net income of $2.064 billion for the previous year. This filing marks a significant milestone, setting the stage for investor roadshows and the formal bookbuilding process for its upcoming global offering. Having received the green light from Chinese regulators on July 10, the retailer is now positioned to move forward after previous efforts to list in New York and London did not come to fruition.

While Shein remains a dominant force in e-commerce, the latest figures reveal a complex financial picture. Revenue showed steady growth, climbing to $41.8 billion in 2025 from $38.7 billion the year prior. However, this top-line success was countered by a notable dip in profitability, with net income falling by 38.7% compared to the $3.365 billion reported in 2024. Despite these mixed results, Shein’s entry into the public market stands out as a rare, high-profile move in an industry where many other consumer brands have sidelined their IPO plans due to cautious investor sentiment and tighter consumer spending.
