Dubai Gold Prices Dip After Recent Surge
Gold prices in Dubai saw a slight retreat during Thursday’s morning trading session, pulling back after a strong rally that pushed the precious metal to a two-month peak earlier this week. The 24K variant opened at Dh529.75 per gram, marking a decline of Dh3.5 from Wednesday's closing rate. Following this downward trend, other gold denominations also saw modest adjustments, with 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K gold trading at Dh490.75, Dh470.50, Dh403.25, and Dh314.50 per gram, respectively.
This minor cooling off mirrors global trends, where spot gold dipped 0.22 percent to trade at $2,395.67 per ounce. Market participants are currently holding a cautious stance, waiting for fresh signals regarding the US Federal Reserve’s upcoming monetary policy. While investors weigh the likelihood of a September interest rate hike, all eyes are turned toward the impending release of the Producer Price Index (PPI) data. This report is expected to provide further clarity on whether inflationary pressures are genuinely easing, following recent data that showed a gradual cooldown in the Consumer Price Index.
