FAB Reports Strong Nine-Month Growth Driven by Robust Lending
First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) has delivered a strong performance for the first nine months of 2026, reporting a 5 per cent increase in pre-tax profit to Dh20.22 billion. This growth was underpinned by a 10 per cent rise in loans and advances, which reached Dh679 billion, and a healthy 7 per cent uptick in group operating income. The bank’s commitment to financial discipline and operational efficiency saw its Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE) hit 18.6 per cent, comfortably outperforming its medium-term targets. Furthermore, the bank’s asset quality has improved, with the non-performing loan ratio dropping to 2.1 per cent, reinforcing a solid capital position supported by a robust 14 per cent CET1 ratio.
Group CEO Hana Al Rostamani attributed these results to the successful execution of the bank's strategic initiatives and the UAE's broader economic diversification efforts. Looking ahead, FAB is doubling down on digital transformation by integrating artificial intelligence and expanding its presence in digital assets and tokenisation. The bank is also making significant strides in its sustainability agenda, having already achieved 83 per cent of its Dh500 billion target for sustainable financing. With international revenue growing by 31 per cent and a diversified portfolio across investment, wholesale, and personal banking, FAB continues to solidify its status as a key financial player in the region.
