UAE nationals can now use electronic gates for arrival procedures at Mexico airports
Starting June 11, 2026, UAE citizens traveling to Mexico can streamline their arrival process by utilizing electronic gates at select airports. This update is particularly timely as many Emirati fans head to North America to attend the 13 FIFA World Cup matches being hosted in the country. By bypassing traditional entry lines, travelers can significantly reduce their wait times; upon using the e-gates, they will receive a QR-coded ticket linked to their Multiple Digital Migration Form (FMMD), which serves as official proof of entry and must be kept throughout their visit.
This new facilitation highlights the deepening diplomatic ties between the UAE and Mexico. However, the service is exclusively available to UAE nationals holding ordinary passports who are 18 years of age or older. It is important to note that this expedited process does not apply to individuals who are permanent or temporary residents of Mexico, nor does it extend to those carrying diplomatic, special, or mission passports. Travelers are encouraged to verify all specific entry requirements via the official UAE Ministry website or smart application before their departure to ensure a smooth journey.
