New Indian Passport Collection Points in UAE Following Centre Closures
Following the permanent closure of four Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) in the UAE, service provider Alhind has updated the procedures for collecting pending passports. As of October 25, 2026, applicants who were previously assigned to the now-shuttered locations in Musaffah, Al Reem, Dubai Investment Park, or Al Majaz must visit new designated sites. Specifically, those waiting for documents from the Dubai and Sharjah centres are now directed to the UW Mall in Bur Dubai, while those affected by the Abu Dhabi closures should head to the Al Danah Centre to retrieve their passports.
While these four locations have ceased operations, the Indian Embassy confirms that 12 other centres across the UAE remain fully functional and open for business. To maintain efficiency, the Embassy continues to offer walk-in services for urgent cases, such as newborn applications, Emergency Certificates, and requests from seniors aged 60 and above. For standard passport and visa services, applicants are encouraged to book slots via the official portal, keeping in mind that daily appointments are released at 9 am and 9 pm. With all remaining centres operating from 8 am to 6 pm, the authorities advise citizens to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before their scheduled time to ensure smooth operations.
