Dubai Airports CEO Confirms Al Maktoum Expansion Plans Remain Unshaken
Despite the recent regional tensions and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, Dubai Airports remains committed to its long-term aviation goals. Paul Griffiths, the CEO of the organization managing both DXB and Al Maktoum Airport (DWC), recently clarified that the massive expansion project at DWC is proceeding exactly as planned. In a recent statement, Griffiths emphasized that the company’s vision for the future has not wavered, highlighting that Dubai’s history of growth is built on the confidence to keep investing and building regardless of temporary global challenges.
The ambitious project aims to transform DWC into a global aviation powerhouse, with the first phase scheduled for completion by 2032. Once fully operational, the facility is designed to handle up to 150 million passengers annually and will eventually assume all flight operations currently managed at Dubai International Airport. By staying the course, Dubai Airports is reinforcing its commitment to the emirate's status as a premier global transit hub, viewing the current climate as just another chapter in a long history of resilience and forward-thinking development.
