The Evolution of HR: Why Leaders Must Pivot to a ‘Chief Reality Officer’ Mindset

Thu, Sep 10, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The modern workplace is undergoing a seismic shift, making the role of HR more vital—and complex—than ever before. During the Future of Workforce Summit 2026 in Dubai, industry experts highlighted how rapid technological advancements and a multigenerational workforce are forcing companies to rethink their people strategies. Ted Kemp, Chief Content Officer at Khaleej Times, emphasized that as businesses race to automate and innovate, the true challenge lies in retaining talent and ensuring that the human element remains at the heart of the corporate transformation.

However, simply having a strategy is no longer enough. Dominic Keogh-Peters of Galadari Brothers argued that a "missing leg" exists in most organizations: the gap between high-level planning and actual performance. He challenged HR professionals to stop acting as traditional administrators and start operating as "Chief Reality Officers" and organizational architects. By focusing on alignment, commercial fluency, and the courage to question whether their systems truly foster growth rather than exhaustion, leaders can bridge the gap between policy and performance. Ultimately, employees don't connect with frameworks; they connect with culture and leadership, making the "human" aspect of HR the most critical driver of success.
