Abu Dhabi Announces Toll-Free Travel and Free Parking for Hijri New Year

Fri, Jun 12, 2026(1h ago)UAE

In celebration of the Hijri New Year, motorists in Abu Dhabi will enjoy a welcome break from road costs on Monday, June 15, 2026. The emirate’s Darb toll system will be suspended for major gates, including Al Maqta, Sas Al Nakhl, Rabdan, and Al Saadiyat, allowing for free transit throughout the day. However, it is important to note that the toll gates at Al Qurm and Ghantoot are excluded from this waiver and will continue to operate as usual, 24 hours a day.

Beyond toll exemptions, public parking across the city will also be free of charge throughout the holiday on Monday. While standard street parking fees are suspended, drivers should be aware that multi-storey parking facilities will continue to charge fees around the clock, every day of the week. Normal toll operations and paid parking regulations are scheduled to return to full effect on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
