High Compliance Among Ras Al Khaimah Auto Repair Workshops

Fri, Jun 12, 2026(1h ago)UAE

A recent initiative by the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED) has revealed that 81% of vehicle repair shops in the emirate are fully adhering to consumer protection regulations. As part of the "Know Your Rights" campaign, officials inspected 30 local workshops to ensure transparency in customer dealings. While the vast majority followed protocol by documenting agreements in writing, inspectors had to issue warnings to the remaining 19% for relying on informal verbal or phone-based arrangements, which often fail to clearly define the rights and responsibilities of both parties.

To foster a more transparent business environment, the RAK DED is urging customers to insist on written contracts before any repair work commences. These documents are vital for outlining essential details such as the scope of repairs, the condition of the vehicle, expected timelines, and warranty terms. This push for documentation has already yielded positive results, with consumer satisfaction levels hitting 99%. Looking ahead, the department plans to maintain a consistent schedule of inspections and awareness programs to ensure that fairness remains a priority across the emirate’s automotive service sector.
