UAE Bolsters Africa’s Fight Against Ebola Virus
Following direct instructions from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is ramping up its support for the World Health Organisation (WHO) to help curb the recent Ebola outbreak in Africa. Through the UAE International Aid Agency, the nation has committed to providing essential medical supplies, vaccines, and support for specialized treatment centers. This initiative underscores the UAE's proactive stance on global health security and its dedication to protecting vulnerable populations from the threat of deadly epidemics.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, emphasized that this mission aligns with the UAE’s core humanitarian values and its long-standing responsibility to assist in international crises. Recognizing the dangerous cross-border spread of the Bundibugyo strain, the UAE is collaborating closely with international bodies and regional governments to ensure an effective response. By prioritizing rapid medical intervention and local cooperation, the country aims to prevent further transmission and strengthen the capacity of affected communities to manage and overcome these health emergencies.
