Sharjah Releases 1448 AH Hijri Calendar: How to Access Your Copy
As the Islamic community prepares for the upcoming Hijri year, Sharjah's Department of Islamic Affairs has officially released its 1448 AH calendar. The distribution process is rolling out in two stages, with the initial phase already covering mosques and government institutions. Members of the public can now collect physical copies from designated locations, including the department's headquarters in Rahmaniya, the Dasman office, and the iconic King Faisal Mosque. Additionally, suburban councils across Sharjah City and the Central and Eastern regions are facilitating distribution daily between 9 am and 1 pm, and again from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Beyond essential prayer timings and dates, this year’s edition features a beautiful artistic tribute to the Sharjah Mosque and includes insightful religious content, such as Hadiths and daily wisdom. For those who prefer a digital version, the department has made the calendar easily accessible via their official website at sia.gov.ae/calendar or through a scannable QR code. According to the new calendar, the first day of Muharram is expected to fall on June 16, 2026, though residents should note that official dates remain subject to the moon sighting. The publication also highlights key upcoming observances, including Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr, and Arafah Day, helping residents plan their religious calendar for the year ahead.
