Fri, Sep 11, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The Sharjah Ruler's Court has officially announced the passing of Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who was the brother of Sharjah’s Deputy Ruler, Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, and Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi. In response to the loss, an official three-day mourning period has been declared across the emirate, beginning this Friday. The Court expressed its deepest sympathies to the Al Qasimi family, invoking prayers for the late Sheikh’s soul to find eternal peace.

Funeral proceedings are scheduled to take place this Friday at the King Faisal Mosque in Sharjah, held immediately following the Asr prayers, with the burial to follow at Al Jubail Cemetery. For those wishing to pay their respects, condolences for men will be accepted for three days starting Saturday at the residence of the Deputy Ruler in Al Badie, while female mourners may visit the home of the late Sheikh in Al Tarfaana. The family will be receiving guests during morning hours before Dhuhr and in the evening between Asr and Maghrib.
