Preparing Students for Tomorrow: Dubai’s New FutuReady Initiative

Fri, Sep 11, 2026(1h ago)UAE

To better equip students for a professional landscape that is constantly evolving, Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has officially introduced the "FutuReady Standards." This new framework provides a comprehensive roadmap for academic and career guidance, spanning from early childhood education all the way to university graduation. By focusing on nine core areas—such as artificial intelligence integration, experiential learning, and inclusive support—the initiative aims to move beyond traditional subject selection, instead focusing on cultivating transferable skills that remain relevant even as job roles change or emerge in the future.

Dr. Amna Almaazmi, CEO of Growth and Human Development at the KHDA, emphasized that the primary goal is to help students navigate an uncertain job market with confidence. Aligned with the ambitious D33 and E33 economic and educational strategies, the framework encourages schools to prioritize real-world exposure and family engagement. Private schools in Dubai now have a three-year window to integrate these standards into their curriculum. To ensure a smooth transition, the KHDA is partnering with the National Career Development Association to offer specialized workshops and professional guidance, ensuring that both educators and students are well-prepared for the opportunities of tomorrow.
