UAE Launches ‘Madar’ Program to Empower 7,500 Welfare Recipients
The UAE Ministry of Community Empowerment has officially introduced "Madar," a transformative national program aimed at helping 7,500 social welfare beneficiaries transition from financial assistance to sustainable, independent careers. By focusing on three core pillars—professional development, support for family entrepreneurs, and financial literacy—the initiative seeks to unlock the potential of individuals aged 21 to 54. Through strategic partnerships with entities like the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Nafis program, the government is providing tailored career guidance, training, and job placement to ensure participants can successfully integrate into the labor market.
This initiative is thoughtfully designed to be flexible, taking into account the unique personal and family circumstances of each beneficiary, such as caregiving responsibilities and proximity to work. To ensure a smooth transition, the program guarantees that any job offer must provide a salary higher than current welfare benefits, and participants will receive dedicated follow-up support for a year after securing employment to foster long-term stability. By prioritizing skill-building and self-reliance, the Madar program reflects the UAE’s broader commitment to moving beyond traditional aid toward a model of long-term economic empowerment and enhanced quality of life for its citizens.
