UAE Enhances Scholarship Program with Increased Allowances and Family Benefits
The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has officially revamped its scholarship framework, introducing a more robust support system to cultivate future-ready Emirati talent. A central highlight of this update is the increase of the study readiness and settlement allowance to Dh30,000. Beyond just financial boosts, the government is placing a greater emphasis on student wellbeing, extending health insurance coverage to the spouses of married students and providing a comprehensive package that includes tuition, stipends, and academic rewards to help scholars focus entirely on their studies.
This strategic overhaul is designed to better align academic pursuits with the countryâs evolving labor market and economic goals. By fostering partnerships with over 10 major national entitiesâincluding leaders in aviation, energy, and industryâthe ministry is ensuring that the 500 currently supported students have a clear roadmap from graduation to career placement. By streamlining the governance of these scholarships and focusing on high-impact fields, the UAE is effectively bridging the gap between higher education and the innovation-driven economy, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to lead in their respective professional sectors.
