UAE Weather: Mercury to Climb to 48ºC Amid Possible Afternoon Showers

Tue, Jun 23, 2026(3h ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted a mostly fair to partly cloudy day across the UAE this Tuesday, June 23. While the morning will be relatively calm, residents in the eastern regions should keep an eye on the sky, as there is a growing chance of convective cloud formations that could trigger scattered rainfall by the afternoon.

As the day progresses, the heat will intensify significantly, with some inland areas expected to see temperatures climb as high as 48°C. Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are bracing for a sweltering day with peaks of 42°C and 43°C respectively, with nighttime lows lingering around 31°C. The humidity is also expected to rise overnight, potentially leading to misty or foggy conditions by Wednesday morning. Winds will remain generally light, though they may gust up to 40 kmph in areas affected by clouds, occasionally stirring up dust. Those heading to the coast can expect mild sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate waves in the Oman Sea.
