Ajman Implements Reduced Summer Working Hours for Government Staff

Fri, Jun 26, 2026(11h ago)UAE

Starting June 29 and running through August 28, the government of Ajman has introduced a temporary flexible schedule to help employees manage the peak summer heat. Under this new policy, the standard workday has been reduced to seven hours. From Monday through Thursday, staff will be expected to work from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, while Friday hours are set from 7:30 am until 12:00 pm.

The official circular notes that government departments have the discretion to manage these flexible hours, provided that staff meet their required daily obligations. For entities that rely on shift-based operations, management is authorized to adjust start and end times to better suit their specific functional needs and operational demands. Further updates regarding these guidelines are expected to be released as the program gets underway.
