Commuters heading toward Business Bay and Downtown Dubai are enjoying a much smoother experience thanks to the recent opening of a new three-lane bridge linking Al Khail Road to Al Asayel Street. During peak hours, motorists have reported seamless travel on the new route, which features clear signage and intuitive lane markings. Developed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) as a key component of the Oud Metha and Al Asayel Streets project, the bridge is designed to handle up to 3,600 vehicles per hour, effectively turning what was once a 20-minute slog into a quick five-minute drive.

Early feedback from drivers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commuters already incorporating the route into their daily travels. While some residents note that the true test will come when schools reopen and holidaymakers return, the immediate improvement in traffic flow is undeniable. With the overall development project now 90 percent complete and additional tunnels and bridges expected to open by late August, the RTA anticipates that these infrastructure upgrades will significantly boost capacity and efficiency for over 420,000 residents by 2030, benefiting vital hubs across Zabeel, Al Jaddaf, and beyond.
