UAE Issues Fog Red Alert as Temperatures Climb to 42ºC
The National Centre of Meteorology has announced a mix of fair to partly cloudy skies for Saturday, with convective clouds expected to develop in eastern and southern regions by the afternoon. Residents should prepare for another hot day, as peak temperatures are forecast to hit 42ºC in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with some parts of the country potentially seeing highs of up to 45ºC. Meanwhile, evening lows will hover around 29ºC to 30ºC, accompanied by a noticeable rise in humidity across coastal and internal zones.
Commuters are urged to exercise extreme caution this morning, as a red alert for dense fog has been issued. Visibility is expected to be severely hampered between 4:43 am and 8:30 am, with the risk of mist persisting into Sunday morning. While winds will remain generally light to moderate, reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph at times, marine conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are predicted to stay relatively calm, ranging from slight to moderate.
