UAE Search and Rescue Team Boosts Nepal Flood Relief Efforts
The UAE’s search and rescue mission in Nepal is intensifying as teams work tirelessly alongside local authorities to locate those missing following devastating floods. Focusing their efforts on the Trishuli River and the Rasuwa region, the UAE contingent successfully identified 10 additional missing individuals, bringing their total recovery count to 18 since the mission began. To navigate the challenging terrain, the responders are utilizing cutting-edge technology, such as 3D mapping, drones, and comprehensive aerial surveys, to pinpoint locations and expedite rescue timelines.
This ongoing humanitarian drive is further bolstered by the arrival of the fifth UAE relief aircraft, which delivered vital supplies including rescue boats, power equipment, and advanced logistical tools. Hamoud Al Afari, the director of UAE relief operations, emphasized that these resources are being handed over directly to Nepalese teams to strengthen their independent capabilities. By working in close partnership with local officials and addressing field-specific priorities, the UAE continues to play a critical role in supporting Nepal’s recovery and stabilizing the hardest-hit regions.
