Abu Dhabi is set to become the global focal point for criminal justice as it prepares to host the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice this September. Running from September 26 to October 1, 2026, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the event will welcome representatives from over 97 countries, including dozens of justice and interior ministers. The primary objective is to move past traditional dialogues and establish actionable, international partnerships to combat emerging threats such as organized digital crime, money laundering, and the exploitation of vulnerable groups.

At the heart of the agenda is the push for legislation that keeps pace with rapid technological advancements. As criminal syndicates increasingly exploit AI and global travel networks, officials stress that technology must be harnessed to serve justice rather than undermine it. The congress is expected to culminate in the "Abu Dhabi Declaration," a roadmap designed to turn global consensus into measurable action. By incorporating perspectives from youth forums, women’s organizations, and the private sector, the UAE and the UN aim to create a comprehensive, collaborative defense against cross-border criminal activities in an increasingly complex world.
