A routine drive turned into a dramatic rescue mission for Sharjah content creator Fatima AlShuweihi after she heard faint meowing while enjoying the cool weather. Upon investigating the sound, she was shocked to discover a frightened white cat wedged deep inside a streetlight pole. After her own attempts to lure the cat out with food failed, she reached out to the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA). The authorities arrived within just 15 minutes, demonstrating impressive efficiency in handling the delicate situation.

The rescue process was a collaborative effort, with the SEWA crew carefully creating an opening in the sand near the pole and using audio of a cat’s meow to encourage the trapped animal to emerge. After a few anxious moments, the kitten was safely pulled to freedom. AlShuweihi took to social media to express her heartfelt gratitude for the team’s swift action and dedication. This heartwarming success story highlights the growing culture of animal compassion in the UAE, where both residents and officials consistently go the extra mile to protect animals in need.
