The United Arab Emirates is in mourning following the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the brother of Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. A distinguished figure, Sheikh Ahmed was the fourth son of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. His legacy is marked by his military service as a commander in the 1980s, his graduation from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and his pivotal role as one of the founders of Al Wasl Sports Club. Throughout his life, he remained a dedicated contributor to the nation's early development and progress.

In the wake of this loss, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and other high-ranking officials expressed deep sorrow, offering heartfelt condolences to the Al Maktoum family. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid shared a poignant tribute, stating that while his brother is absent from sight, he will forever remain in his prayers and heart. Similar messages of grief and respect were shared by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, along with official statements of mourning from the Rulers of Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman.
