India Mandates New Health Declaration for All International Arrivals

Fri, Jun 26, 2026(13h ago)World

India’s civil aviation authorities have officially rolled out the "Air Suvidha 2.0" portal, a new digital initiative requiring all international passengers to complete a mandatory health self-declaration form before arrival. Launched on June 25, this system is a proactive measure in response to the recent declaration of the Ebola/Bundibugyo virus outbreak in parts of Africa as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. The portal requires travelers to disclose their travel history over the past 21 days, any potential exposure to the virus, and current health symptoms to ensure a safer, contactless entry process.

To streamline the arrival experience, passengers are encouraged to submit their details via the portal within 24 hours of their departure. By completing the form during web check-in, travelers can simply present their downloaded declaration at immigration or the health desk, eliminating the need for traditional paperwork. This real-time digital system allows health officials and surveillance officers to identify high-risk individuals quickly and effectively. Authorities are urging all international passengers to provide accurate information well in advance to support these crucial public health efforts and protect the well-being of the traveling public.
