Bahraini Court Imposes Life Sentence on Man for Ties to IRGC and Hezbollah
A Bahraini court has handed down a life imprisonment sentence to a man convicted of collaborating with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Lebanese group Hezbollah. Prosecutors alleged that the individual acted as an operative within the Kingdom, where he gathered sensitive information, including photographs and video footage of incidents related to Iranian activities. The defendant reportedly funneled this intelligence to foreign handlers, aiming to undermine national security and support hostile agendas against the state.
During the legal proceedings, the defendant provided a full confession to the authorities, which was later corroborated by technical analysis of his electronic devices. The High Criminal Court conducted multiple sessions to review the evidence, ensuring that the accused had legal representation and full access to a fair trial process. Following the verdict, Bahrain’s Public Prosecution reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward individuals who threaten the country's sovereignty, warning that anyone found inciting or assisting in such acts will face the full extent of the law, which can include capital punishment.
