Kuwaiti Authorities Bust Diesel Theft Ring Targeting Telecom Towers

Fri, Aug 21, 2026(1h ago)World

Kuwaiti law enforcement recently cracked a series of diesel theft cases involving critical telecommunications infrastructure in the Jaber Al-Ahmad district. Initially treated as crimes committed by unidentified individuals, the investigation took a turn when authorities utilized advanced surveillance and technical analysis to track the activity at the tower sites. This diligent police work eventually pinpointed four suspects, all of whom were employees for a company specifically contracted to provide maintenance services for these facilities.

Upon interrogation, the four Indian nationals confessed to siphoning fuel from the towers over a two-year period. According to officials, the group systematically exploited their maintenance roles to skim off excess diesel; while some of the stolen fuel was used to mask shortages at other sites, the rest was sold for personal profit. Beyond the Jaber Al-Ahmad area, investigators believe the group's activities extended to other governorates as well. The suspects are now in custody and awaiting formal legal proceedings as the Ministry of Interior continues to probe the full extent of the operation, vowing to deal strictly with any threats to the nation’s essential infrastructure.
