Teenager Admits Guilt in Arson Attempt Against Iran International
A 19-year-old man, Nathan Dunn, has entered a guilty plea at London’s Old Bailey for his role in an arson attack targeting the offices of Volant Media, the parent company of the news outlet Iran International. The incident, which took place in northwest London this past April, involved the suspect hurling an ignited container toward the broadcaster’s premises. Fortunately, the device landed in a nearby car park and self-extinguished, resulting in no structural damage or physical harm to anyone in the area.
Dunn was originally charged in connection with the attack alongside two others, including a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy. At the time of the event, Iran International—a broadcaster known for its vocal criticism of the Iranian government—reported that security had blocked a suspicious vehicle from entering their site just moments before the incendiary device was thrown. With his admission of “arson being reckless as to whether life is endangered,” the legal proceedings for the 19-year-old have reached a significant turning point.
