Pakistan PM Condemns Deadly Quetta Bombing
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a strong condemnation following a devastating bomb blast near Chaman Phatak in Quetta, which claimed the lives of at least 24 people and left over 50 others wounded, including members of the military. The attack, which specifically targeted a train transporting army personnel, has been labeled by the Prime Minister as a cowardly act of terrorism. In his official statement, Sharif emphasized that such senseless violence would not undermine the nation’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, and he assured the public that the government remains resolute in its fight against all forms of extremism.
Expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy, the Prime Minister offered his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and wished the injured a swift recovery. He affirmed that the entire nation stands firmly with the people of Balochistan during this difficult time. The province, which is Pakistan’s largest by landmass but also its most economically disadvantaged, has long been a flashpoint for tensions. Baloch separatists have frequently accused the central government of extracting the region’s rich natural gas and mineral wealth without providing adequate developmental benefits to the local communities.
