PowerChina Celebrates China-UAE Cultural Bonds Through Dragon Boat Festival

Tue, Jun 23, 2026(2h ago)Business

In celebration of the traditional Dragon Boat Festival, PowerChina recently hosted a meaningful cultural exchange event in Dubai titled "Inheriting Intangible Cultural Heritage, Connecting China and the UAE." The gathering attracted over 150 attendees, ranging from local students and academics to business leaders and media personnel. Supported by the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai and organized alongside the Confucius Institute at the University of Dubai, the event served as a bridge between the two nations, highlighting a shared dedication to mutual respect, peace, and the long-standing friendship between the Chinese and Emirati people.

The festivities offered a hands-on experience of Chinese heritage, featuring traditional activities such as zongzi-making, intricate sachet crafting, and elegant tea ceremonies. Students from prominent institutions, including the University of Birmingham Dubai and the American University of Sharjah, joined PowerChina staff to participate in these rituals, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of cross-cultural learning. Beyond construction and infrastructure projects, PowerChina underscored its commitment to social responsibility by acting as a cultural envoy, aiming to deepen the ties between the two communities and support the ongoing development of the Belt and Road Initiative through continued people-to-people collaboration.
