Burjeel Holdings Sees 42% Profit Surge Amid Rising Patient Demand
Abu Dhabi-based healthcare provider Burjeel Holdings has reported a stellar financial performance for the first nine months of the year, highlighted by a 42.1% jump in recurring net profit to Dh412 million. Total revenue for the period climbed 5.6% to Dh4.3 billion, fueled by a 13.1% increase in patient footfall across its network of hospitals and specialized medical centers. The group's performance was particularly strong in the third quarter, where it recorded a 7.9% rise in revenue and a significant 17% increase in EBITDA, excluding one-off items. This growth was largely supported by its hospital segment, which accounts for the vast majority of its revenue, alongside a notable rise in surgical procedures and outpatient visits.
The company’s expansion strategy is clearly paying off, with the addition of seven new medical centers across the UAE and Oman and an increased focus on high-end services like organ transplantation and AI-driven cardiac care. Financially, Burjeel has significantly strengthened its position, with operating cash flow soaring by over 200% and a healthier net leverage ratio. Chairman and CEO Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil attributed these results to a successful operational transformation, noting that the momentum seen in the third quarter validates the group’s commitment to integrating advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence to drive sustainable long-term growth.
