Sharjah Empowers Women Entrepreneurs with New E-Commerce Initiative

Fri, Jul 31, 2026(3h ago)Business

The Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC) has officially launched an ambitious Dh3.6 million project designed to help 1,000 local businesswomen transition into the digital age. By partnering with Packman Portal LLC, the council is providing members with fully functional, professional e-commerce stores worth Dh3,600 each. This comprehensive package includes everything from secure payment gateways and product management systems to ongoing technical support. To incentivize long-term growth, businesses that successfully process at least 365 orders within their first year will be rewarded with an additional year of free services.

This strategic move comes as the UAE’s e-commerce sector continues its rapid expansion, with projections indicating steady annual growth through 2026. Beyond providing technical infrastructure, the initiative focuses on long-term sustainability by offering workshops on digital marketing, inventory management, and business optimization. Maryam Bin Al Shaikh, Director of the SBWC, emphasized that the goal is to bridge the gap between creating a quality product and ensuring it reaches the right customers. By equipping women with these essential digital tools, the council aims to foster a more competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem that contributes significantly to the UAE’s thriving digital economy.
