UAE fuel prices for August 2026: What you need to know
The UAE has officially released the updated fuel pricing structure for August 2026, signaling an upward trend following a brief respite in July. Starting August 1, motorists will see Super 98 petrol rise to Dh3.6 per litre, up from Dh3.40. Similarly, Special 95 is set at Dh3.49 per litre, E-Plus 91 will cost Dh3.41, and diesel prices have been adjusted to Dh3.8 per litre. These increases follow a period of volatility in global oil markets, largely driven by the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Since the conflict began on February 28, fuel costs have seen significant fluctuations, climbing over 60 percent before witnessing a temporary decline last month. The latest spike is closely tied to renewed instability in the region, particularly following the escalation between the US and Iran on July 29. For many families in the UAE, these frequent monthly adjustments necessitate a closer look at household budgets, as rising transport costs continue to impact daily living expenses across the country.
