Dana Gas Reports 47% Profit Surge Amid Rising Production and Higher Prices
Dana Gas has delivered a strong performance for the first half of the year, reporting a 47% increase in net profit to Dh393 million compared to Dh270 million during the same period in 2024. This growth was largely driven by a combination of surging hydrocarbon prices, increased production output in Egypt, and robust gas sales from its Pearl Petroleum operations. Even when accounting for a one-off Dh176 million gas metering reconciliation recorded earlier this year, the company’s underlying financial health remained solid, with total revenues climbing 51% to Dh946 million.
Operational highlights included a 7% production boost in Egypt, where proactive drilling and successful new wells significantly bolstered resource estimates. While regional challenges in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq caused intermittent operational disruptions, the company successfully offset these issues through its Egyptian gains and the commencement of a key supply agreement to provide 100 million standard cubic feet of gas daily to Iraq’s power sector. With its cash balance strengthening to Dh843 million and a clear roadmap for further drilling through 2026, Dana Gas maintains a resilient outlook despite regional volatility.
