A consortium spearheaded by Air Arabia is officially preparing to take to the skies from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. Following the receipt of its Air Operating Certificate from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation this past Sunday, the new low-cost carrier is scheduled to begin commercial operations on September 20, 2026. Initially, the airline will focus on domestic connectivity, offering double daily flights to Riyadh and Jeddah, alongside a daily service to Madinah.

This expansion marks a significant step for Air Arabia, as Group CEO Adel Al Ali emphasized the airline's dedication to making reliable, budget-friendly travel more accessible across the Kingdom. Local officials at Dammam Airports have welcomed the development, noting that it highlights the airport's rising operational status and its potential for future growth. By utilizing its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft, the airline aims to bridge key regional gaps and provide residents in the eastern province with significantly improved travel options for both domestic and international journeys.
