Flydubai to Surpass 100-Aircraft Milestone with Major Fleet Expansion
Flydubai is set to reach a major milestone by the end of the year, as it prepares to grow its fleet to over 100 aircraft. The Dubai-based carrier confirmed plans to take delivery of 11 new jets, specifically seven Boeing 737-9 MAX and four Boeing 737-8 MAX models. This strategic expansion is designed to bolster the airline's premium capacity, allowing it to better serve high-demand international routes and accommodate a growing number of business class travelers seeking enhanced comfort and efficiency.
In addition to expanding its numbers, the airline is launching an ambitious cabin retrofit project beginning this September. Over the next year, 21 existing aircraft will be upgraded with the carrier's signature lie-flat business class seats, replacing older recliner options. Furthermore, the cabin interiors will be modernized with Boeing’s larger "Space Bins," which significantly increase overhead storage capacity. According to CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith, these investments are a core component of Flydubai’s long-term vision to modernize its fleet and deliver a superior passenger experience across its network.
