Sharjah-Oman Trade Corridor Sees Massive 66% Growth in Early Months
The logistics corridor connecting Sharjah and Oman has experienced a remarkable start, with cargo values surging by 66.26 percent in just its first three months. Since its launch in May 2026, the initiativeâa collaborative effort between the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority and Oman Customsâhas facilitated over Dh1.7 billion in trade. Beyond the financial milestones, the route has seen significant operational activity, including the processing of more than 32,000 customs declarations and over 34,000 individual truck movements.
By integrating Sharjahâs ports with key Omani hubs like Sohar, Duqm, and Salalah through the Khatmat Malaha and Al Madam crossings, the project has effectively streamlined regional trade. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, director of Border Crossings and Entry Points Affairs, emphasized that the corridor was designed to be more than just a transit lane; it serves as a sophisticated logistics ecosystem that slashes transit times and operational complexities. With over 200 new importer codes registered and a diverse range of goodsâfrom construction materials to foodâflowing toward markets in Saudi Arabia, Africa, and Asia, the authority is now focused on expanding its partnerships to further solidify this route as a premier logistics gateway.
