Middle East Dividend Payouts Surge in Second Quarter
Middle East companies have reinforced their status as key players in the global income landscape, distributing a total of $44.6 billion in dividends during the second quarter of 2026. This represents a solid 5.5 percent underlying year-on-year increase, accounting for roughly 5.9 percent of global payouts. Saudi Arabia maintained its position as the region’s primary dividend hub, contributing $28.4 billion—nearly two-thirds of the total—largely fueled by Saudi Aramco, which continues to hold its title as the world's largest individual dividend payer.
The UAE also stood out this quarter, securing the second spot with $13.6 billion in payouts and an impressive 7.3 percent underlying growth rate, which significantly outperformed the regional average. Meanwhile, Kuwait experienced a remarkable 45 percent surge, reaching $1.8 billion, reflecting the region's broader appeal to income-focused investors. While global buybacks are currently outpacing dividend growth, Middle Eastern firms remain focused on consistent dividend distribution, a strategy that analysts believe will play an increasingly vital role in diversified portfolios as the region continues to deliver resilient corporate earnings.
