The 29th edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award has reached a remarkable milestone, witnessing an unprecedented surge in interest from around the globe. According to the Dubai Media Office, officials have already received over 12,000 applications from 120 different countries within just the first two weeks of the registration window. This massive influx represents a staggering 113.6 percent increase compared to the previous year, highlighting the growing international dedication to Quranic memorization. With the registration period remaining open until August 15, organizers expect these numbers to climb even further.

Launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, this prestigious competition serves as the world’s most significant platform for honoring those who memorize the Holy Quran. Since its inception nearly three decades ago, the initiative has awarded over Dh67 million in prizes and recognized countless individuals and institutions for their contributions. As the event approaches its 2027 awards ceremony, the leadership continues to emphasize the importance of this mission, framing it as a lasting commitment to spreading divine guidance and celebrating the scholars who uphold these sacred texts.
