Sharjah to Launch Women-Only Tower and Comprehensive Care City
In a move to enhance community infrastructure, the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has unveiled plans for a new women-only tower located across from the Kalba Clock Tower near the University of Kalba. This initiative aims to address space constraints at the current landmark while offering a private environment that includes a versatile hall for games, a landscaped garden, and convenient parking facilities. The project is part of a broader commitment to elevating the quality of public life and community support systems throughout the emirate.
Beyond this new tower, the Sharjah government is pushing forward with the development of an extensive care city situated along Khorfakkan Road. This massive facility will provide dedicated, gender-segregated services, including centers for the elderly, physiotherapy clinics, childcare, and addiction recovery programs, alongside a mosque and social event spaces. Simultaneously, the region is seeing significant progress in tourism and public space projects, notably the Kalba Beach waterfront, which is slated for completion in late 2026 and will feature a variety of recreational amenities such as cycling paths, sports courts, and dining options.
