Abu Dhabi’s New Wadi Development Prioritizes Pedestrians Over Vehicles
Cosmo Developments has unveiled "The Wadi," an ambitious Dh6-billion residential project on Yas Island that reimagines modern living by pushing all vehicle traffic and parking underground. By clearing the surface level of cars, the 140,700-square-meter community creates an expansive, vehicle-free environment centered on nature and human connection. Residents will enjoy a six-kilometer running track that weaves through lush landscapes, water features, and parks, offering a serene, walkable neighborhood that prioritizes safety and community interaction over the presence of automobiles.
The development is set to feature 3,950 residential units ranging from cozy studios to spacious four-bedroom apartments, alongside a wide array of amenities including retail hubs, gyms, tennis clubs, and spas. With a focus on sustainability and comfort, the master plan incorporates native greenery like ghaf and palm trees, with building orientations designed to optimize natural airflow. Sales have already seen significant momentum, with the initial phase of 700 homes attracting strong interest immediately upon launch. Construction is expected to span the next five years, ultimately delivering a holistic lifestyle destination that seamlessly blends waterfront living with modern urban convenience.
