CBI Files Chargesheet in Twisha Sharma Death Case; Forensic Report Confirms Suicide
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially submitted a 636-page chargesheet in the Twisha Sharma death case, formally accusing her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, of cruelty and violations under the Dowry Prohibition Act. Twisha’s cousin, Ashish Sharma, noted that while the document substantiates claims of mistreatment, legal teams are currently reviewing the extensive filing to understand the full scope of the findings. The family has expressed a strong desire for the judiciary to handle the case without the influence of special treatment, insisting that the accused be treated like any other citizen facing such serious allegations.
This legal development follows a definitive conclusion by a five-member medical board from AIIMS, which ruled that Sharma’s death was a suicide. The board, directed by the Madhya Pradesh High Court to conduct a second post-mortem and site investigation, found no physical evidence of assault or a struggle on her body. By clarifying the details surrounding the ligature material and conducting a meticulous forensic analysis, the medical experts have provided a scientific basis for the suicide ruling, effectively distancing the findings from the murder allegations previously raised by the victim's maternal family.
