Jharkhand Government Cancels Exams Following Student Protests
In a significant move to address mounting pressure from student demonstrators, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren recently announced the cancellation of all recruitment activities managed by TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL). This sweeping decision includes the nullification of past exam results and candidate selections associated with the firm, as well as the formal cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examinations. Soren further promised a rigorous investigation into alleged irregularities spanning from 2014 to the present, noting that a retired judge will oversee the probe into the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) civil services exams.
Despite these measures, student leaders remain unconvinced and have vowed to continue their agitation until all their demands are met. Piyush Kumar, a leading voice in the protests, emphasized that the government has yet to provide sufficient clarity regarding the age cut-off policies, the status of the CDPO and FSO exams, or their stance on a CBI inquiry. For the protesting students, the cancellation of TDPL’s involvement is only the first step; they insist that the movement will persist until the government fully addresses their concerns and ensures total transparency in the state's recruitment processes.
