Easing Travel Advisories Fuel Dubai’s Tourism Growth

Tue, Sep 15, 2026(2h ago)Business

A senior official from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Hoor Al Khaja, has noted a significant boost in visitor confidence as international travel advisories have begun to soften since March. Speaking at the Arabian Travel Market 2026, Al Khaja highlighted that the current trajectory is leaning heavily toward fewer restrictions, a shift that is clearly reflected in the city’s impressive performance. Dubai welcomed nearly seven million visitors in the first eight months of 2026 alone, with August seeing a notable spike in arrivals compared to the previous year, proving that the city remains a top-tier destination despite broader regional uncertainties.

The growth is supported by a diversified market approach and innovative campaigns like “Dubai Invite,” which empowered local residents to act as ambassadors by inviting friends and family to the emirate. This unique initiative, which saw roughly 90,000 applicants, complemented the city’s broader strategy to maintain a balanced mix of visitors from Western Europe, the GCC, and Asia. Looking toward the future, the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing remains committed to its long-term D33 vision, planning further targeted marketing efforts and community-driven initiatives to ensure the city remains a premier global hub for tourism, living, and investment.
