Odisha Eyes Industrial Transformation with $25.4 Billion UAE Investment Surge

Tue, Sep 15, 2026(2h ago)Business

Odisha has successfully positioned itself as a premier destination for global capital, securing an impressive $25.4 billion in investment proposals during a recent three-day roadshow across the UAE. Led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the state delegation engaged in high-level discussions with sovereign investors and industry leaders, resulting in 24 Memoranda of Understanding. These agreements span a diverse array of sectors, including green energy, artificial intelligence, LNG storage, and infrastructure, with the potential to create over 600,000 jobs. This outreach highlights Odisha’s strategic shift from a mineral-rich region to a hub for value-added manufacturing and advanced technology.

The investment drive focused on building long-term, durable partnerships rather than one-off deals, targeting key industries like ship repair, steel, and chemical production. Major players such as Rana Holdings and Sharaf Group have already committed to exploring projects in AI data centers and urban development, respectively. Chief Minister Majhi emphasized that the state is entering a new era of industrial growth characterized by efficient project execution and global collaboration. By leveraging its robust port infrastructure and skilled workforce, Odisha is actively working to streamline the path from project approval to implementation, signaling to the international business community that the state is fully prepared to lead India’s next industrial revolution.
