Gold Prices in Dubai Edge Higher as Market Sentiment Shifts
Gold prices in Dubai continued their upward trend this Wednesday, with the 24K variant steadily approaching the Dh500 per gram threshold. At the market open, 24K gold reached Dh496 per gram, rising from the previous day’s close of Dh492.25. Similar gains were observed across other categories, with 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K variants also trading higher. Globally, spot gold saw a 0.96 percent increase to $4,134 per ounce, while silver also enjoyed a boost, climbing over one percent to $60.73.
Market analysts suggest that while sentiment for the precious metal is gradually improving after a period of stagnation, significant momentum remains elusive. Vijay Valecha of Century Financial notes that although major financial institutions maintain long-term bullish outlooks—forecasting prices between $4,500 and $5,000—a substantial rally depends largely on the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy. For now, traders are closely monitoring US labor market data; signs of economic softening could provide the necessary catalyst for gold to break its current consolidation pattern, whereas a resilient job market may keep the dollar strong and cap further gains.
